Subject: Frank Guariglia CO 435

 My Dad , Fran Guariglia of Brooklyn NY, was in CO 435 which graduated on March 8 1945.
He was 29 at the time and was nicknamed Pappy by the rest of the fellows. He always spoke fondly of his days as a Sampson Boot.
After Sampson he was assigned to the USS Kearsarge in Brooklyn but wsa released from active service just before its shakedown cruise.
Dad died in June of 2001. A Navy honor guard was at his gravesite service.
