My father-in-law served with CBMU 517 from the time they sailed out of Gulfport until they returned to the states in November 5th, 1945. The other day he was wondering how many of his shipmates were living and where they might be. He remembers some names, but mostly nick-names that were used. Would it be possible for you to share the names on the roster? I may be able to help contact someone that might still be living.
His name is Otis Ray Flippin. Ship Fitter 2nd Class. He returned to Amarillo, Texas after the war. His name should be on the roster.
Please advise.
