I was at sampson,in feb,march,and April of 45.do not remember co.but was in D-11-Lower barracks.our px was through a fire before we got there.i lost my co.photo.i would give anything to get another copy.left there. Navy troop train to Camp shoemaker. Ca.then to treasure Island.met the survivors of the U.S.S Indianapolis. boarderd A.P.A.SIBLEY TO ULITHI AND ENIWETOK,then to Samar.L.S.T.to some god forsaken island i cannot remember.then L.S.I to Taclobin,on leyte.left there on a L.C.T.TO Cavite.volunteered to go to Manila. BP-15-1 and served as engine man on a L.C.M.I LATER BECAME Coxswain.year later went aboard Vice Admiral Kauffman Yacht.great duty.we had the Honour of having Gen.Eisenhower aboard.took him over to Corrigdor,and surrounding bay area.We left for Subic Bay may=46 picked up the Transport Winged Arrow to Sammar,then headed for Treasure Island.worked in records office.went on leave to Frisco.got back to base 15 minutes late.Marine on main gate threw me in the Brig, and i could have made muster.and was member of ships co.and no problem.but you know those Marines.coast me a captains mast.June Navy troop train back to east coast.to Camp Bainbridge for discharge.what an experience,a lot i could have added a lot to this post but it would have gone on and on. .Louis DeAngelo thanks to the webb Master great site
