Subject: Passing of Another Sampson Veteran

 George T. Appleton, who received his training at USNTS Sampson in 1944, passed away at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 17, 2011, at the age of 85.

I know that he often thought of his time spent at Sampson, and the visits he was able to make to the Station in his later years, with fondness. He had asked that I let the Sampson WWII Navy veterans know when he passed.
