My father, Sub-Lt. Harold Selby was skipper of LCT555 which was sunk on D-Day. There certainly is a confusion because there were two vessels with the same number....US LCT 555 and British Built LCT 555. The US LCT555 was certainly sunk on Dday and I recall my father mentioning it. His No.2 was Johnny Bewglass from Glasgow.
