 I believe my brother was a member of the crew of the U.S.S.Neshoba. He served his "boot" at Sampson shortly after the outbreak of the war. His name was Mawson Lewis Dowding and went by "Bud " as no one could remember his first name. He was an LST/LCI driver/pilot and served in the south pacific and was discharged in 1945 and settled in San Diego. He passed away in 1972 from a heart attack. I am writing only to inform you of what happened to him in the event you are keeping a record of crew members. He really did not talk about the war to any length when he returned home, but I do remember a few things he told me. Feel free to write if you have any questions and I will try to answer.
