UA MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY TO HOST
'SHEEP TO SHAWL' SATURDAY, MARCH 8
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -UA's Alabama Museum of Natural History will host a live demonstration of the traditional techniques used to produce fabric directly from a wool fleece, Sat., Mar. 8, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Smith Hall, 6th Avenue on the UA campus.
Rain or 'shine, participants will see a sheep shorn and watch a fiber artist spin its wool into yarn and make a shawl for raffle, and enjoy hands-on activities, old-fashioned games, stories, and songs.
Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children and retirees, and free for those age 6 and under. For more information, phone 348-7550 or e- mail museum.programs@ua.edu.
Regular operating hours for UA's Alabama Museum of Natural
History are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tues.-Sat., and 1-4:30 p.m. Sun.
