Here's something cool shared by Jenny Honeycutt who represents Welsh interests for ACA:
In Wales, Caroling is very popular. Music and singing are important to any Welsh gathering, particularly when religious in nature.
There is also a very unusual custom when a villager is chosen to be the "Mari llwyd" (your guess on pronunciation is as good as mine). This person travels around the town draped in white and carrying a horse's skull on a long pole. Anyone given the "bite" by the horse's jaws must pay a fine.
Whatever your family's traditions and customs, I hope you all enjoy your holiday. If anyone can share more on Welsh customs and traditions, please let me know.
Meanwhile, I am forwarding an e-mail from Atlanta's Welsh Society, which includes a couple of web sites for browsing.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
