Four points and a win for moseley ts week. A very poor performance by our standards it was if we just expected that just turning up would give us a win and five points. In the first half we looked like we were going through the motions.
With a full squad to choose from then there are some very puzzling selctions if you consider, current form , past performances, enthusiasm for the side and commitment.
One in particular that continues to confound me is the continued selection of Bryn Keys!!!! By his own admission he has had a very poor start ( I think he even said embarassing) credit to him for recognising that, BUT he is unable or unwilling to tackle in the centre, I suspect if you reviewed every game he has played in for moseley you will find that when the opposition run at him especially from first phase he just falls off the tackle. It is an obvious key channel for any opposition to attack us becasue of that weakness. It has cost us ground and tries time and time again. THIS MUST be addressed. he plays centre like a matador , waving the opposition through !!!
Secondly, why why why is nathan bressington not a starter every week??? he is aproven finisher who goes looking for work and plays with passion and enthusiasam(spell check). Whereas Rob Thirlby looks uninterested, again is poor in defence ( and the tackle) probably a stone overweight. In summary he does not look like he wants to be here at moseley and to be honest he should not be on the pitch whilst we have btter , fitter and more passionate options.
If we are to address our deffensive frailties then these are to blinding obvious places to start.Stem the tide and take the blinkers off !

Whilst frustrated by the manner of our victory, this game was highlighted by many on this board as a potential banana skin. So I'm relieved to come away with 4 points. It can't have been easy preparing for a game that wasn't confirmed until late in the week and derby games are rarely pretty.

However, our back line has been poor all season and I too have been unimpressed with both Thirlby and Keys. Trouble is, without access to either May or Trinder, we don't have a natural, pacey outside centre.

I have to agree that Thirlby looks like hes only here for one thing , and its not for the rugby . Bressington should have played the last two games from the start
