Can I be the first to say that today's game was fantastic! What an improvement on last week. Players were excellent, Thirlby was so much better in his natural position. JMC looked good and Borgen looks absolutely quality!! And the rest of the squad are looking better and better with every minute they play.

It's about time we had some positive posts on this board!

31 - 27 to Mose I hear?!

After going 20 to 6 down? Anyone shed some light on what sounds like a great turnaround?

Windy alley. Just as with the London Welsh game, the Roth lead never looked quite enough going into the wind in the second half.

Good, enjoyable game to watch. Slightly disappointed not to get the 5th point, but Roth were well worth their bonus. The big pity was conceding the second try - don't moan to the ref, be very aware! That made the game harder than it should have been as were two decent overlap opportunities early in the first half.

Muldowney's try early in the second half was, IMHO, Mose's best of the season. Good controlled play and a bullocking finish. Am I correct in saying that Mose made no substitutions today? In the absence of injuries, this was probably a good thing. we're about to lose Rodwell, Keys an Mensah-Coker to International and Sevens duty so we should get as much game time out of them as possible.

Bedford will be half way in the season and a minimum of 24 points will be a decent return. Lots to work on still, but generally going in the right direction. Eighth place will be between Plymouth, Rotherham, Coventry and Mose - all the better if we can drag the Pirates into it. We have the ability but need greater consistency.

Come on Mose!

First half was dire - and Rotherham's lead was all to do with missed tackles and inept defending and nothing to do with the wind.

Second half was much better but if they can do it then why nto right from the start.

Oh, and Mr Thirlby - dropped the ball when it was esier to score, tried very hard to overcomplicate things every time he got the ball and was definitely at fault for Roths' third try. But other than that, he was great!

You are a hard man! I thought today we saw an excellent game against a side which is about the same as ours in terms of cost and ability. Although starting poorly for twenty minutes we played the best rugby until the last few minutes when, with nothing to lose, they ran everything. This was as good a Championship game as you could expect to see IMHO, and Rob Thirlby certainly silenced his doubters! Justin M-C was for me MotM closely followed by Ally McD.

I agree with the comments of not over impressed.
I didnt leave the ground yesterday thinking i had just witnessed our best game of the season. Also agree with noi that an 80 minute performance would be nice.
I think any improvement on the part of rob thirlby is marginal but the fact remains he continues not to justify his starting position nor the sizeable salary he is reported to be earning.

I agree that it was not the best performance of the season, and whilst the wind had little to do with Roth's tries, it did dictate likely tactics for both sides in each half.

We all need to realise that the difference between this season and last is that there are few, if any, really weak teams - even the Bees are likely to catch someone out soon. Mose are sitting in 7th, 2 points behind next Friday's opponents, Bedford. I am happy to admit that I'd have settled for that after 10 games. Of course, nothing has been achieved yet and it's where we are at the end of February that matters most, but only Bees can be confident of being in the bottom 4 an there will be a few who were confident of Top 8 having a quick glance over their shoulders.

Come on Mose!

And Bedford will be fuming after loss to Pirates, and ready to give someone a real pasting. Lets be ready from kick of til final whistle, 90 minutes if needed!

... that last year at GR we lost with the final kick of the game - a conversion of a last-minute try. (I was there, and it hurt).

Let's be at least 8 points clear going into the final minute, please ;-)

Looking at the table today, we are in the "correct" position - we have beaten all the sides below us, and lost to all the sides above us apart from Bedford who we face this Friday.

Come on Mose!!!

Vast improvement on last weeks game so let's be thankful for that. Congratulations to players and coaches for the turnaround.

Others have mentioned Thirlby and Mensah-Coker (I agree with the positive comments) but I would also like to say that both Pennycook and Keys both had better games today with the former in particular doing some really good work. We were much better around the ruck area than last week.

I also think that Nathan Williams is a real unsung hero. He never gets a mention but I think he is one of the best front row forwards in the league in both the tight and the loose.

We also had a few threequarter moves which was good to see!

I'm beginning to lower my expectations so I'll take the win without making any negative comments.

By the way the £9 I spent on the 'Beanie' (why do they call it that?) was the best £9 I've spent in ages - it was absolutely freezing yesterday.

the 'Beanie' (why do they call it that?) .........is it related to the hat that Benny in Crossroads always wore?

Over the 'ages' perhaps 'Bennie' got corrupted to 'Beanie'?

Wonder what Miss Diane thinks?

Good point but I am reliably informed that Rupert Harden and Tristan Roberts are "Retained Players" which means that they are ours for the season and are not subject to the requirements of Gloucester's teams - unless it is the 1st XV which is unlikely. (Many of our other players are on similar one year contracts so what is the real difference).

Mark, I think we can safely say therefore that ALL are Moseley men! Good isn't it! Now hopefully that should stop the knockers who try to suggest we only win becuase we borrow players from Glos!

A good win against a side that are no pushovers, any side who has just beat the Pirates can play a bit.
If there is any area to improve from Saturday it is in keeping focussed for 80 mins. Try from tap pen was a giveaway that should not have happened. A bit more intensity is needed to avoid costly mistakes.

Thought there were some impressive performances out there. Mason & Muldowney as usual, improvements from Thirlby & Keys (keep it up guys). Williams, Pennycook & Brogan played well and Mr M-C is proving me wrong as I was not to keen on his signing, an excellent game getting involved with some powerful drives making hard yards.

Play to the potential the team has and they can beat anyone in this league.

I took my 9 year old nephew to his first game on Saturday (I know it should have been years ago!) and was so pleased when the team turned it around in the second half after the boy had repeatedly said "they're thrashing us now aren't they uncle Richard!?"

Well he left with Moseley as HIS team and in a new shirt to boot. Think I've successfully indoctrinated him. His favourite player is "the big brown one" and I have to admit that based on Saturday his choice seems a good one!

Well done for the big 2nd half guys and let's take that spirit to Bedford
