Subject: Sustainable agriculture assignment

At my agricultural high school, we have an research assignment on sustainable agriculture. I was given the topic of cactus farming, and was wondering if anyone had any information they could share with me.
The assignment is to outline an unsustainable practice in the field, and suggest ways to remedy it OR to outline how sustainable the practice is.
I don't know which one it is for sure, because our teacher collected our books at the end of last term, with the assignment sheet in it.
