The problem with mealybug is it isn't normally seen intill the pest is a real problem. I use a simple remedy, sheep dip, one teaspoon to a 5 litre container of water.
I submerge the plant untill all the bubbles have finished, then let it drain in a shady place.
I have always had success with this method, and it gets rid of all soil pests
