This should not happen if you are giving the plant its correct cultivation regime. Possible problems are as follows but note that many of these factors are interrelated.
Moving the plant, especially if done frequently.
Sudden changes in light levels.
Insufficient light levels (or the reverse).
Not giving enough water. Flowers tend to be water hungry.
Too much water causing root rot.
Mealy bug or other pest attacks.
Too much high N fertiliser that promote green growth while higher P & K formulations will promote flowering.
