Subject: Hail damage to Cacti & Succulents

I live down near the Southern Highlands in NSW and during the recent heavy hailstorm some of my plants sustained quite a bit of damage.One example is a Cereus Peruvians which is over 2m high has about a dozen holes/depressions from stones that were between golf/cricket ball size. The skin of the plant has dried out and turned yellow and then dying back to a whitish-cream colour.Is there anything I should be doing? Will this create a problem for the plant?Does it make it more susceptible to pets? Some other plants sustained damage as well(probably about 12 out of a garden of 60 plants).Regards.David.
