Subject: Some kind of desease

Hey fellow cactiphiles!!! Arrggg, I hate that name hehe.

Okay, my problem. Several weeks ago I transplanted a tray of seedlings (various common cacti) they were mostly around 1 - 2cm diameter. All the seedlings from this particular tray have died. First I noticed black bloches forming on the sides of the plants. They looked like bruises that broke and became infected. Then they rotted or I just pulled them out and discarded them.

These seedlings received the same treatment as all the others which are doing fine (give or take one or two). What was the problem? Has anyone experienced this? And if it is to happen again, what do i do?

Cheers, Adrian
