Subject: Infineon Race Announcement

Series Combines Cycling and Motor Sports in Sonoma, Debuts April 6



WHAT:

For the third consecutive year, Northern California cyclists will have a place to call home at Infineon Raceway. The Infineon Raceway Cycling Series returns in 2006, featuring racing in both the spring and summer on a variety of motor sports-themed circuits. More than $5,000 in cash and prizes will be on the line.



WHERE:

Infineon Raceway, Highways 37 and 121, Sonoma, 95476.



WHEN:

* The Spring Cycling Series will run on the following Thursdays: April 6, 13, 20, 27.
* The Summer Cycling Series will run on the following Thursdays: Aug. 10, 17, 31 and Sept. 7.
* Registration begins each week for both the spring and summer at 5:15 p.m., with the official race start at 6:15 p.m.



AT STAKE:

More than $5,000 in cash and prizes will be on the line. Spring and Summer Series champions will be awarded $300 each. Scoring for each series will be based on the NASCAR points system.



COURSES:

This year, competitors will race on the same courses used by drivers in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, Indy Racing League and NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series:

* Week 1 (April 6): NASCAR course, 10 turns, 1.99 miles
* Week 2 (April 13): IRL course, 12 turns, 2.26 miles
* Week 3 (April 20): NHRA drag strip, quarter-mile sprint
* Week 4 (April 27): One-third mile criterium oval incorporating Turn 11



IN ADDITION

A childrens lap around the track, under adult supervision, will be held at 5:30 p.m. each week.



COST:

$15 per week and a 2006 United States Cycling Federation (USCF) license is required. FREE one-day licenses are available. Juniors (under 18) and children are free but must have a parent or guardian signature. Events will take place, rain or shine.
