It is so sad that the ranch was closed. I was fortunate to have seen it before it closed. It was smaller than you would think. They even had fake graves. But the scenery was real and beautiful. adamseve

The ranch may be closed but hardly neglected. (Can't dispute hard Nevada winters, 'tho.) Owner pays a crew to maintain it in tip-top condition on a regular basis. He allowed attendees of the 2009 BONANZA Friendship Convention to take a special private tour and all reported the old homestead was in great shape (as verified by the numerous photos taken by scores of enthusiastic fans visiting in small groups throughout the day). So cheer up! The Legend lives on and the Ponderosa Ranch House is still in great shape behind that tall fence!
