Ripley arrives at the Ponderosa and plans to search for a sacred ancient treasure on the ranch. Incidentally, Ripley has never been proven wrong!

That's Robert L. Ripley, BTW (by the way) of the L = _________ ?

And because he's heard that Ben doesn't allow hydrolytic mining of to wash away the top soil to get to the bedrock for where maybe it's #x number of feet into the bedrock (behind an iron door?) he's bringing along Burro Schmidt http://deathvalleyjim.com/2011/10/31/burro-schmidt-tunnel-bickel-camp-last-chance-canyon-10292011/ who spent 32 years digging by hand to excavate 5800 tons of rock for his 2,000 foot long tunnel that is a tourist spot today. Of somebody thought that they were buying the place, but that all he had was mineral rights from the B.L.M.

How much mineral in each stone rock? Not much, but that I think somebody could make a nice profit if they'd sell chunks as paperweights with a postcard +/or booklet, that I'd buy for maybe ten bucks, or if Native American Indian painted too, maybe as a piece of art also they might get twenty bucks.

[> [> Re: Robert Ripley found the authentic tomb of Noah -- Rick, 00:57:37 02/19/12 Sun [1]

In 1938, Ripley found Noah's tomb in the holy mountains of Lebanon, near the ancient city of Damascus. I have a photo of it and Ripley also found the anchors to the Ark in Tunisia.

[> [> [> [> Re: Believe it or Not [Researcher; & The Church of the One Tree*]. -- Joe H., 07:48:57 02/20/12 Mon [1]

Thanks SWC of over at the first link gets you to two interesting details:

(1) "indefatigable professional fact researcher, Norbert Pearlroth, who assembled Believe it or Not!s vast array of odd historical, geographical, and scientific facts and also verified the small-town claims submitted by readers. Pearlroth, who spoke 11 languages, spent 52 years as the feature's researcher, working in the New York Public Library ten hours a day, six days a week, finding and verifying unusual facts for Ripley". +

(2) "The Church of the One Tree*, a church built entirely from the wood of a single 300 ft (91.4 m) tall redwood tree, which stands on the north side of Juilliard Park in downtown Santa Rosa." Here's a picture of it: http://ci.santa-rosa.ca.us/departments/recreationandparks/parks/communitycenters/churchofonetree/Pages/default.aspx the church, that is. Anybody have a photo of the tree before it was cut down? Like a before and after shot? Maybe that postcard for sale there?

* The BONANZA connection: What was the tallest tree on The Ponderosa? #____ feet high, or around? I remember one episode where Ben took Jaime to the Brothers Tree where he was allowed to cut his name into there too, as his adopted son. I think maybe David Thomas, the Founder of WENDY'S had his desk made out of it when the winds (and an earthquake?) took it down one year? Just a guess. Reference: his Jack Williams Adoption Program, of it actually called: http://www.jackwilliamswednesdayschild.com of: "Wendy's loyal customers have raised over $2.5 million for Jack since 2001!" of this a "national" advertising event? or just for us here in New England? What are the promotions out west? It says on the place mats here in New Hampshire of this for "kids here in New England".

[> [> [> Re: [tomb of Noah, in "armenia"] -- Joe H., 07:30:10 02/20/12 Mon [1]

Thanks Rick, and according to: http://www.biblearchaeology.org/post/2008/05/Has-Anyone-Discovered-Noahs-Ark.aspx

"8/14/2008 2:01 PM #

i doubt that anyone will find the ark as its discovery would have an impact on faith. would God allow it to be discovered and thus undermine His own criteria that pleases Him?

my question though is to the credibility to the stories of Noah's tomb and why no one ever mentions it or the tombs of his sons? gertrude bell talked about noah's tomb and years ago i came across a website with drawings of the tombs of noah and his sons but since then nothing.

here is a picture of a tomb thought to be noah's and a link to 1 story on the topic:

www.ancientworldfoundation.org/noahstomb.htm

www.ancientworldfoundation.org/tombofnoah.htm

why are there so little mention of these tombs so little information on them, as they are located in armenia, not far from the ark's supposed landing?"

Me going to those two websites now. . .

The CIA has covered up the discovery since the height of the Cold War, but it has been discovered. They even snuck their own people in the SEARCH expeditions back in the early 70's and had a secret expedition in 1980. The late Col. James Irwin had access to the top secret files.

Yeah, I remember Catherine Shirriff on these TV shows with Jack Palance (the one-armed push-up man at The Oscars.)

http://cavan-gentle.blogspot.com/2009/09/catherine-shirriff.html

I see that she has since gotten married and is now Mrs. Catherine Forstmann.

Born in Toronto, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0794399/

See also: http://www.startrek.com/database_article/valkris for her as a Klingon in that Star Trek III movie. Of I liked her better withOUT that snapping turtle-like forehead! (;-) "
