I think it's quite interesting when One actor/actress plays different people on a show , but my question is >
You'd think more people would notice the same actor/actress in different roles.
I guess they do the story line so well they ask them to return over and over again.

I've noticed that on little House , where the same actor plays different people.

Mariette Hartley is still alive and acting to this day I believe.

Yes, she is. I never really thought much about her acting style, one way or the other...but then I saw her in RIDE THE HIGH COUNTRY and in an episode of 'The Virginian' television series, and I realized how good she is in the western genre. She is superb in the spaghetti western BARQUERO with Lee Van Cleef. But I think she really hits her stride in these four 'Bonanza' episodes. She is like a chameleon. She can do it all! And speaking of 'Little House,' she appeared in an episode of that series, too. Another one I like who seems to bring a variety of roles to life on screen is Dub Taylor. He did several episodes of 'Bonanza' as well!

Dub is Buck's dad. Both great actor's.
I think Dub was such a sweet caring person in all of his western episodes.
I want to recall he was in :"Blazing Saddles" too.
Slim Pickins was in that. Any one know what his Real name was ?

Now I know: " Louis Burton Lindley, Jr. (June 29, 1919 – December 8, 1983), known by the stage name Slim Pickens, "
from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slim_Pickens

Thanks H.L.R. of he was a rodeo clown,

of I last saw him on TV a few years ago when RTV had "Hawaii Five-O" on at around lunch time, of him " the patriarch of a family of serial killers" !

P.S. His brother is/was(?) "Samuel T. Lindley, acted under the name Easy Pickens." Answer: was, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0681787/bio

Mariette Hartley's two appearances on the Virginian were both excellent episodes. In both cases, she has a close relationship with The Virginian. "Felicity's Spring" was very memorable. Her little sister has a terminable disease, becomes engaged to The Virginian, and (of course) dies on cue.

Yes, 'Felicity's Song' is a great episode. I think I read somewhere that Mariette Hartley's father committed suicide when she was younger. In 'Felicity's Spring,' her character's father has committed suicide, which makes the scenes where she tells the Virginian about it very poignant.

Yes, it was an excellent episode, but it was their mother who had committed suicide, I think after a prolonged illness, I believe. Her elderly father was in the episode, and he worried about letting Felicity get engaged to the Virginian.

I'm partial to Gregory Walcott, with the exception of farmer Perkins I liked all his guest shots especially Thornton's account "now you simmer down too" I like him in the Clint Eastwood movies too
