Very intense episode. I did not understand exactly whether Shanklin wanted to rob Ben or take out a long-term loan. I didn't see the logic in all that.

Agree. I think there were too many implausibilities with this episode. It was a little too convenient that when Hoss gets shot, he gets surgery in order to survive...but when Shanklin gets it at the end, his bullet wound is automatically fatal. What was the likelihood of a doctor becoming a criminal mastermind?

It was a good episode, but I was unsure if Shanklin was trying to justify the $25,000 as some type of long-term loan, I think at 5%, which would actually be quite high today!

I don't know. I thought it had an interesting, but far-fetched, premise. It was different than the usual Bonanza fare, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a good episode. There are much better offerings from S13.
