Thanks for the R.I.P. info [ at: http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=809352&ocid=ansent11 ]

of I had written to him back around 2006 when I had seen him in a recent rerun of whatever on T.V. (of I think it was on TV LAND, of before RTV, then METV and now some "Cosie" T.V. of I just saw an old episode of "Magnum, P.I." the other night this week)

and he sent me a signed photo with a note of liking my letter to him, of as good as a glass of Scotch Whiskey he wrote. (;-)

Of he died on 5/23 eh? In one of this week's tabloids of there's a survey result of the Best Theme Song on T.V. was voted to that of Gilligan's Island, with "Ginger" = Tina Louise, and that photo of the castaways, of it got me to thinking of to write him again of maybe a reunion with her of they were both great in that "Bonanza: Season 9, Episode 8 Desperate Passage(5 Nov. 1967)" episode! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0529542/

of in my letter was mention of Js. Arness as Matt Dillon telling him in one of those revival TV episodes of Gunsmoke of him as: "a product of the Devil's Loins!" (;-) R.I.P. - - Joe

"Desperate Passage" is one of my favorite season 9 shows, Joe, with nice work by Steve Forrest and Tina Louise. I always remember when the Cartwrights first find Josh Tanner locked up in the local jail, and man is he thirsty!

Earlier today (Saturday) MeTV showed the Gunsmoke "The Widowmaker" and the Bonanza "To Stop a War" as a tribute to Steve Forrest. (Afterwards The Big Valley episode was "Barbary Red" with Bing Russell in a small role.)

I believe the "product of the devil's loins" line is from Gunsmoke: Return to Dodge, the first of the reunion movies, in 1987. Amanda Blake and Buck Taylor are in it, but Ken Curtis did not sign on. Milburn Stone and Glenn Strange had already passed away by that time.

Mr Forrest died on May 18, but I think it wasn't announced until around May 23.

Tim
