I am not familiar with too many episodes of Wagon Train, although I did watch it as a kid in the 1960s (probably in reruns).

Recently I saw "The Les Rand Story", a very early episode, and thought it was excellent. The guest cast includes Sterling Hayden and Eduard Franz. Ray Teal also appears, just a couple of years before he became the Sheriff of Virginia City.

"The Katy Piper Story" is another good one I have recently seen, from season 8 of Wagon Train in 1965. Barnaby West (Michael Burns) is forced to shoot a young man about his own age, and is so riddled with guilt that he quits the wagon train, which doesn't sit well with Bill Hawks (Terry Wilson). Frances Reid guest stars as Dr Katy Piper.

I watched "YANCY DERRINGER" during the original run. And then again in reruns in the early 60s. I haven't seen the show since then. But, I do remember looking forward each Thursday night to watch a new episode.

Anyway, from what I remember from the show, I liked any episode where Pahoo blasted someone with his shotgun and all the episodes with "Colorado Charlie" played by Kelly Thordsen. I plan on getting the DVD set at some point.

LARAMIE is another western I haven't seen in ages, and I can't remember much, but I also plan on getting these DVDs too.

I never was a fan of WAGON TRAIN and rarely watched it back in the day. It seemed too soap operish for me. To me, it seemed more like a western for the ladies rather than a traditional western.

The only two episodes of WT that I liked and also recorded off Encore westerns are the first episode, "The Willy Moran Story" with Ernest Borgnine and "The Dan Hogan Story" with Jock Mahoney.
