Subject: Roy and Clem Question

I'm just watching "The Night Virginia City Died" and am enjoying the rare bit of shared screen time between Roy and Clem. I can't think of another episode in which they both appear. Do you know of any, Rick?

Your question reminded me that I just saw Bing Russell on TV today, playing a Sheriff on The Big Valley episode "The Profit and the Lost." I always enjoy spotting Russell in various westerns, and he seemed to have a real knack for playing lawmen.

I believe the other one is "The Luck of Pepper Shannon" from season 12. I don't recall the episode, but got the answer from Rick's superb episode guide, the best online!

Neville Brand plays Pepper Shannon. He was also in "The Last Viking" and "The Rattlesnake Brigade."

I think they were both in a few episodes together, more than the 2 or 3 listed here. Just never this much screen time together. I never did quite understand the timing of Clem pretty much almost replacing Roy during the mid to late 60's, tinto the 70's but Roy still coming back from time to time. It was a bit strange, maybe NBC wnated a younger sherrif? Rick, any ideas about that?
