Notice how Johnny's clothes are identical to Mooney's at the climax. He's within the boundry of the law, yet a legal killer. In the end, it's Joe who ends up outdrawing him when he goes into a cartwheel and wings him. Guy Stockwell and Ron Foster did a great job in their onscreen roles.

Johnny: "They all watched it happen. All my friends. Now, I'm nothing. Nothing."

True, Johnny's clothing is the same, and he even loosens the holster's retaining strap before entering the saloon, just as Mooney had earlier. Basically Johnny had become Al Mooney by the end. Great attention to detail in an excellent episode.

Notice how Johnny brushes the dust off his hat and shirt, just as Mooney did.
