Subject: 50 Years Ago Today

50 Years ago today George Reeves died. To this day his death is still a mystery. Best known for the television series The Adventures of Superman Reeves brought the man of steel to life. Along with Bonanza it was a pioneer in color television. Reeves to me has always been the best Clark Kent. Not the bungling clutz that the movies made him to be. We miss ya George.

Reeves was murdered. You mess around with Eddie Mannix and Toni and he'd have you killed. He was Louis B. Mayer's Chief of Staff at MGM. When Reeves dumped her for Lenore, he signed his own death warrant. She kept trying to kill him. Edward Lozzi knew Toni in the last years of her life. She confessed on her deathbed because she didn't want to go to hell. Lozzi wouldn't come forward until the actual triggerman died because he was afraid he'd get it. Reeves was a great guy, but his love life went too far.

The 2007 movie 'Hollywoodland' deals with the mysteries of Mr.Reeves death.I think it's an excellent movie.

The producers of the old George Reeves Superman tv show must have forecasted the future because the color films of the later seasons is the primary reason that old tv show is still popular today.

Yes,Brian Singer wrecked the Superman franchise with that lousy 2006 movie.I saw it on a Saturday the week it was released. The threater i saw the movie in was showing it on 3 different screens that afternoon. When i walked in,sat down, and counted only 10-12 people at the early afternoon showing i was attending,i knew then and there before the movie even began to play that it was doomed. It didn't take long(only about 3 days) for word of mouth to spread about what a lousy movie it was.

Getting beat up by ordinary thugs, using his x-ray vision to be a cross between a prowler and a peeping tom to spy on Lois, and pouting about lossing her,and the super-kid is nothing like the macho,responsible,man-like Superman i grew up reading about in the comic books.
