This is culled from Universal Horror for the film review of 'Eyes of the Underworld' (1942):

Director Reginald LeBorg once wrote, "Lon Chaney, Jr., had a streak of violence in his personality. In roles that called for it, his rage could become almost uncontrollable." Don Porter, co-star of 'Eyes,' confirmed this when he told the authors, "Chaney was a big, hulking, nice guy unless you got into a screen fight with him. Then you had to be a little careful because he got very serious about it."

The working title of the film was 'Destiny,' which was formerly the working title for 'The Wolf-Man!' In early trade papers, it was announced that Bela Lugosi and Claude Rains were to be Chaney's co-stars, but they didn't make it.
