First, I love the title for this episode...it automatically establishes the conflict the guest character faces. Tim Considine is the guest this time, and so is Royal Dano. This was Considine's first television role post-My Three Sons. I thought he did a fine job and proves what a capable dramatic actor he could be when given the opportunity. Story-wise, this one shows the audience how nurturing Hoss is, taking this would-be rebel under his wing. The scenes with the two bonding over the bull, getting the beautiful beast ready for fair, were my favorite part. The ending, where there is a climactic fight in town on the day of the fair, seems very much like 'McClintock!' and having the gang of hoodlums pull switchblade knives seemed a lot like 'Rebel without a Cause.' Overall, I thought it was a very entertaining episode, and the comic subplot involving Joe and the girl from the kissing booth was a nice touch!
