Good Candy episode:

The Stalker - 1969
After Candy shoots and kills armed robber James Campbell in self defense, he learns that he left behind his widow, Lisa, and young son ... and a farm to operate. A remorseful Candy decides to help the young woman out, not knowing that Lisa plans to hire a hit man to kill the Ponderosa's foreman in revenge. However, Lisa learns that Candy had all the qualities that her husband never had and changes her mind, but then they must work together to stop the hit man from completing his mission.

(Sad ending when Candy leaves).

How about "Feet of clay" (I believe that is the tittle).

When Hoss has to kill the little boy's father and the little boy is punching Hoss in the chest and screaming "I hate you, I hate you", while Hoss is crying.

That's probably the most compelling saddest episode period. However the actual ending offers hope, as the little boy takes Hoss's hand as they start walking down the road.

That was Feet of Clay. A very, very good episode that showcased what a really good actor Dan was.. The little boy was Alan Ladd's son David who grewup and married Cheryl Ladd. So I quess he did alright until they divorced. She replaced Farrah on Charlies Angel's, did alot of tv movies and of late was James Cann's wife on Vegas. And she still could pass for an Angel. adamseve

I agree. Feet of Clay was another very sad episode. Alan Ladd's son was excellent in that role. And the episode played to Hoss' strong point as a very kind and empathetic person.

What timing! Thanks R.L. See above for Ed in today's episode of Route 66.
