All the different eras are rewarding of course, but for me it has to be Seasons 1-8, particularly the Adam years. That's what made the series, and it was never quite the same following Season 6 in my humble opinion.

That said, I can watch and enjoy an episode from any period, and I remain hopeful that they'll all be out there one day to collect on DVD.

C. Seasons 12-14.

Has several of my Top 10 episodes ("The Stillness Within," "Kingdom of Fear," "Forever," "Saddle Stiff") along with many other personal favorites ("The Night Virginia City Died," "The Weary Willies," "Blind Hunch," "Terror at 2:00," "A Time To Die," "The Lonely Man," "Search In Limbo," "The Hunter," etc. etc.). Mike was writing good scripts and even the ones he didn't write were generally pretty good. Also I liked the new theme.

That said, I love many of the older shows, especially "Springtime," "Journey Remembered," "The Crucible," "Joe Cartwright, Detective," "Ponderosa Explosion," "To Die In Darkness," "The Trouble With Amy," etc.
