La Rue was an American character actor who worked this Bonanza episode and was in many Hollywood TV series, including "Star Trek" and "Mission", ditto, etc. In 1974, he financed an expedition to Mount Ararat in Turkey to find Noah's Ark. He bribed the guards, broke laws there and was unethical. The Turkish authorities found out and he got on a flight and left before they caught him. They said if he ever returned and he would face punishment. La Rue bragged and said he would be the last man on the mountain. Far from true. La Rue died in 1990, but the Ark will forever rest on the northeast side of the mountain that faces Armenia (former USSR republic) and Georgia.
