Women Had Very Few Choices In The Old West.

Be A Wife and Bore Children For Her Husband.
Many Of Them Became School Teachers.

Single Gal's Were Working Ladies > Prostitution.
Many Of Them Became Wives And Gave Up Their Profession.

There Were Women That Even Became Cattle Barrons.
I'll Probably Spell Her Name Wrong > Susan McSween.
I Recall Her Being In New Mexico.

Yep, we all remember Victoria Barkley in her black leather jeans and jacket and Audra in her designer jeans. Ha,ha. But I'm sure there were real female ranch owners. Any female law officers or judges back then? Very few female Docs except for Dr. Quinn. When was the first female Texas Ranger? adamseve

Dale Evans?

How about Sharon Stone in that terrible western. Maureen O'Hara used to star in some westerns. Certain Victoria Barkley takes the cake. I don't think any can beat her.

Leather and Blue Jeans Didn't Get Made/ Used As Clothing Till In The 1900's. I Forget The Exact Years.

Don't Believe What You See On The Silver Screen.
It's Not Very Accurate.

Calamity Jane , Who's Real Name Was > Martha Jane Canary-Burke , She Wore "Buckskin". 1852-1902
She Worked As A Part Time Prostitue Like Julie Bulette.

I Have A Small Book About Her Too.

I think we know this was a fashion joke. Barbra Stanwyck had such star power that she got her way. Out with the long hair in with leather and jeans. adamseve

I Think The Writer's Of These Old Western Serie's Should Study Up Abit More On The Style Clothing That Was Worn In That Long Ago Era .

And Pants Were Called : Britches.

Some Of Those Old Sporting Row Ladies Would Have Looked Great In Tight Black Leather Pants.

I've Been To Linda Evan's House (outside).
She Lives In Lakewood Washington.
Million Dollar Mansion.
The Big Valley Must Have Paid Well.
