Subject: Little Joe at 17

How do we know that Little Joe is 17 at the beginning of the first season? I was thinking that it's mentioned in "A Rose For Lotta". I recently got the entire first season on DVDs, and I'm going through the episodes right now. When I watched "A Rose For Lotta" I didn't hear Little Joe's age being mentioned. Did I just miss it in one of the scenes? Thanks. :)

Busy..busy! Dave Dortort had Joe at 17 in the 1959 pilot. The brothers were aged by 6 years apart. I do have a page on the site called Cartwright Chronology that lists their ages and events. It was a pain to do, but it worked. Go to main episode guide page and you will find it.

Don't be afraid to ask. Some of us have been on this site for a long time. If Rick doesn't get back to you (he really does have a nonbonanza life) usually one of us will. Just be sure to check the other sections of this site. There is a wealth of info on episodes, locations, actors, horses etc. Rick has put a tremendous effort into this site. One detail a lot of viewers miss is that Joe was actually supposed to be 15 during the events related in the Henry Comstock episode. Remember, he was 17 at the beginning of the ep, and then they flashed back to 2 years before.? Another fan had to point that one out to me.
