I must also point out that most long-running TV series would update the title music and later, go back to the original in another variation. I never cared for the updated "Star Trek" music tracks they did for the 1979 movie. The original (1966-69) was the best one.

Thanks for the link, but I could not find where it explained why the music was radically changed in 1967. Did I miss something?
