Beautifully told story. I thought Gilbert Roland did a superb job conveying the conflicted nature of his nomadic character. The scene where the horse tries to follow him and basically ruins his get-away attempt was great, and the anguish the Cartwrights experience watching his tragic death was well-staged. This was matched by the ending, with Hoss setting the horse free, which pulled at the viewers' heartstrings and was very touching. I love these episodes where Dan Blocker gets such tender moments to play.
