Rick, I am going to guess, "Hot Day for a Hanging" (Season 4) where Hoss is put in jail for bank robbery during a drought in a small Western town. In the saloon, the townsfolk start talking about giant hoards of grasshoppers coming from the North, but a stranger says there aren't any grasshoppers coming, since he just came from that direction.
