Re: My Good News* -- Larry Benjamin, 21:38:37 04/09/12 Mon [1]
I rarely post here but read often as my wife and I consider Rick a friend and this is an excellent and informative site---actually one of the very best on the internet.
I come in peace so, High Line Rider, please don't take this the wrong way . Your bitterness comes through so strongly and though legitimately so, it would be kind of you to keep the "300 pounder's" children out of the matter. BTW, why are all 11 handicapped, blind and retarded?
I understand and empathize with your unresolved inner turmoil. I lived without the woman I cherished and had planned to marry and watched her marry and divorce twice and have 4 children. While dreaming of and considering everything from kidnapping her to throwing myself in front of a train I thought of both her husbands in indescribable context. I never once let myself think of her children as anything less than innocent babes born in senseless unions.
Thirty-four years after she left me at the alter she came back to me. My point? Vent but please leave the children out of it. In the long run you will be so much better for it if you let go and be the one your son can turn to with his own grief. Divorce/abandonment is very similar to death and we must get through all of the stages.
It is very healthy to allow your many friends here to support and uplift you. You will begin to heal when you are able to redirect your emotional energies in useful, fulfilling ways. I applaud you for your strength and courage and wish you well. My wife and I remember you in our prayers. Best wishes---
Larry Benjamin

Please stop feeling that you wasted 33 years. Certainly there were good reasons you married him. Remember those and move on. I lost my love of 32 years via death and I can't change that either. Fortunately I have childern, family and friends that carry me along. adamseve
