Honey Boo Boo’s mom is no stranger to cameras - not even those belonging to the cops.
June Shannon, whose pageant-loving daughter became a viral sensation on the TLC reality show "Toddlers and Tiaras" earlier this year, had a run-in with Georgia police in 2008 and she's got a mugshot to prove it.
The 33-year-old was arrested for theft and contempt of court on Jan. 3, 2008. Those theft charges may involve child support issues since Shannon was involved in several child support cases at the time of her arrest, according to Starcasm.com
Honey Boo Boo, the alias of six-year-old Alana Thompson, turned heads earlier this year when she appeared in a segment for the hit TLC show.
In the segment, the little blond girl is seen downing a mystery drink, which is later revealed to be a mixture of Mountain Dew and Red Bull, just before she takes the stage to compete in a child beauty pageant, bursting with energy.
"I want to win because I want to make money," the six-year-old said on film. "A dollar make me holler, honey boo boo!"
Shannon defended Thompson's drink of choice at the time.
"A lot of pageant moms and people know what the 'special juice' is. Everybody has their different concoction. 'Special juice' is to help energize her," Shannon said.
"A lot of moms say, 'Oh, you're doping up your child.' No I'm not. I'm not hurting her,'" she added.
Shannon, Thompson and the rest of their colorful clan, including father "Sugar Bear" and sisters "Pumpkin," "Chubbs" and "Chickadee" are currently starring in the TLC mini-series "Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo
