In reply to: Christi 's message, "The dress is great...the headdress is an insult to Natives everywhere. Did they not recall the backlash from Shandi FInnisey or Kimberly Pressler???? Whether she is native or not women did not ever wear the headdress or warbonnet, it is a very ceremonial only worn by chiefs and warriors, sometimes women were chiefs but never wore the warbonnets. Why dont designers research before they design???? I think the dress is beautiful and does represent Haida artwork, but the warbonnet is too much, just too much..." on 14:45:50 09/08/11 Thu

Actually...there is always critisism...its insulting to natives to use thier culture as a 'costume'. the dress is nice, the warbonnet is offensive. (NT) Christi19:37:30 09/08/11 Thu
I actually agree w/ Christi. I think the dress, especially the bodice is beautiful. But the warbonnet is offensive to the native culture. They really could have come up w/ something else for her hair.. JMO (NT)Karen12:22:23 09/09/11 Fri
