I have been involved in a few of the Canadian pageants and I have to agree with the original post. While participating in MUC myself and many others got the sense that certain girls were given preferential treatment, groomed for victory. While I can't deny Natalie is stunning and defintely deserved her crown, let us remember what effort that took on BOC's part as she did not win her first year. There seems to be a trend with the girls that have won in recent years in that they are the ones being sent to other pageants, given gowns, etc. Don't know if I'd say the ballots are fixed, but certainly some girls are given an advantage over others who work very hard to even make it into the pageant. That said, I did not have the same vibe while participating in MWC so I still have faith in some Canadian pageants. But like some people said, it's about business and business is about making money ...I can't see things changing unless BOC changes directions and becomes more interested in a girl's platform and personality like MWC.
