Subject: You think it's fair that delegates are sent to pageants for exposure before MUC? I'm sorry that's not fair.. especially when BOC is sending them. I do know for a FACT the prepped girls are given special treatment such as free gowns to wear, extensions, sponsorship... TRUST ME I KNOW. And I do for a fact know that many of the sponsors were Judges in the past, so is that fair? Judging a girl whom he/she sponsors? Sort of biased is it not? Any of the contestants from the Toronto area knows what goes on... No one can say a pageant is *fixed* but we can all definitely say there is prepping going on and an unfair advantage. I actually know of (what a small world) one of Alice's sponsors back in 2006, and he even admitted and was bragging that he already knew Alice was being handpicked to win thus boasting about his sponsorship to the "winner" before it even happened. Subject Author Date You have no idea what you're talking about. Sahar was sent to one competition--Samantha has been sent to at least 5 and was taken by BOC to MU last year to watch and learn. Nobody is sayng Nat and Alice were'nt amazing but the organization absoultely grooms its winner before the competition and they win. You do the math. It might be "sour" but a lot of girls pour their heart, soul, and major money into what they are TOLD is fair and most leaving thinking its rigged. How do you explain that? I witnessed it myself and even seeing it years later its obvious what BOC does. Just look back to 2004 the year Vanessa won... I would like people to remember what that production was like, look at the judges they were all reputable and weren't personal friends of Denis Davila. The host was Allan Thicke, it had a different vibe. Vanessa won, not Natalie who was being prepped. Denis changed BOC ever since 2004.. he made it easier to get away with, by hand picking judges that are his friends and sending girls off internationally, etc. If you look really closely the dynamic changed drastically since 2004. It is the fact that a beautiful, talented, standout girl from another part of the country has NO CHANCE to win. If BOC hasn't had their eye on you and prepared you, you have NO chance. They won't take the risk. That's what happened with Vanessa in 2004, the judges saw something in her and she was gorgeous, but didn't perform to BOC standards. Ever since, they want to be 100% confident the right girl is chosen, so they are doing it themselves. And yes it's working but it's not fair and its wasting alot of people's time and money. Not to take anything away from Natalie, but that year, many of us considered Gretal Montgomery to be way more beautiful than Natalie. The next year, Alice was a foregone conclusion. Maybe she was handpicked, but even a truly fair panel of judges would have selected her. Then came Inga - that was shocking to say the least. I can't imagine anyone fixing the pageant for her and yet I can't imagine her winning fairly. This year, I don't know what to think. Samantha is a decent choice, and I'll leave it at that. Although Natalie would do better on an internationally level, Gretal would have made a genuine better MUC. But we are all forgetting what the pageant is about, looks... who cares if the woman is sweet and kind on the inside.. obviously BOC doesn't, they want a winner who is marketable and $$$. Alice was handpicked too.. she had a ton of modeling potential.. I personally don't think she was that outstanding, most can't see beyond her fashion model potential, there really isn't much else there. Inga no idea, I think she resembled Natalie so they were banking on that fact.. and Samantha she is $$... Maybe they are prepping her for the Adult Film industry.. cause that's the look she has. I know from experience and the others I just knew from educated observations on BOC's prepping. Even so much as looking at the girl's sponsors is a dead giveaway.. And the judging panel is a dead giveaway as well, how many pageants do you keep seeing the SAME judges over and over? Come on Denis, get a little more discreet.. Vanessa was the only one that stayed in it because she was from out of town. That is another reason they like Toronto girls winning, cheaper for them! They can groom their winning well before MUC, once she wins she's practically ready for MU.. so they just do final touchups and hope they are on their way to a Miss Universe.
