My grandfather gave me a pocketwatch who himself got it from his grandfather. I don't know anything about this kind of stuff but would like to learn more about this watch. Here's what I've gathered. I believe its from 1905-1910
26224827 on movement. Waltham movement and Waltham name on face of watch. What does this mean?
8409290 stamped inside of case. What does this mean?
Logo on inside case says "Illinois watch case co. Elgin Gold filled 10k double stock"
10640J hand engraved on side of inside case
14939L hand engraved below stamped number inside case
I see there is no gasket. Were there problems with moisture?
What are jewels? This one apparantly has 17.
How much might this cost at the time?
What do the two written engraved numbers on the cover mean?
