I have an Elgin Ladies lapel watch with a Serial Number of: 14593237 - is there a way to identify what year it was made based on the serial number? It says Safety - Pinion adjacent to the serial number. Also, on the inside of the back cover - opposite the works - there are several sets of hand engraved numbers and what appears to be initials (Examples: E-36735 and C64629) all in different engraving styles; could these be the identifiers for the various watch repairmen or watchmakers who perhaps worked on this watch? The watch is on a gold ladies chain and came in the original maroon box with a maroon velvet lining. THANK YOU for any help in identifying the origins of this watch.
