Question regarding this Elgin Sportsman I got new in December, 1962. I'd like to know if it's gold filled, gold plated, or goldtone. No marking on it to indicate but I don't know what was required in 1962. Did they make Elgin Sportsman watches then that had no gold and were just "goldtone?" It's got its scratches and discolorations; I'm certain it's not solid gold, in any case. I recall my grandmother in 1962 got the watch on sale, from a good Rochester, NY jewelers (Hershberg's) but the original price, from what I recall, was around $34.95. What might that indicate as to material? Thanks.
