hello i have no idea how this is gonna work i'm looking for help on my dad's dad's watch apparently he worked for the railroad but used a wrist watch... i can't find nothing on it and i'd like to find a really really good place to get it worked over.. i looked alot of places online to find out info on it but i'm still lost.. i have a whole bunch of hand scribed things on my watch as well as a serial number and make number that isn't coming up... by what i can find... on the "what i can identify" as the spring wheel is elgin 780 6 ADJ usa 23 jewels.. on the back cover is watch star case company cased and timed by elgin national watch co. then theres a number in that "2285" under the stamp is "S296210".. under that "hand scribed" very small and very hard to read is either 250T or 2501.. under that again "hand scribed" ETA 10-81.. and on the wrist side of the cover is again hand scribed p8978. i'm lost as to what these mean i'm guessing there craftsman's numbers of some sort.. i'm not trying to sell i want it repaired to wear.. i love the watch and am into the ventage thing.. if anyone has anything i have 2 addresses i beg u to try both.. joeknowzero@gmail.com or jwesley1980@gmail.com...
sincerely,
