Subject: help on elgin watch Author: Padgett (question) [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 07:56:54 12/29/06 Fri My step father has an Elgin watch and I cannot find any information on this watch I looked the serial number up on the web site but it doesn't seem to match. The watch was given to his mother when she was 7 this would date the watch to the 1800's. The watch looks like a lapel type. It has a face with intials engraved on it. The inside has 3 small diamonds. The numbers on the face are roman numerals. The serial number is 9181720- Elgin MF. USA is also on the inside. It has the word WARRAUTE enscribed on the inside and 14k USA SSAY and on the bottom outside casing it has the numbers 6119272 60210. Can anyone help identify this watch. What throws me is the word WARRAUTE--I do not know if this is a mfg. co that sold Elgin watches. There does not seem to be any information on this. Thanks for any help.
