I was recently given my grandfather's pocket watch. It is Serial Number 25152422, 12s, 15j, o3n3p, grade 315, manufactured around 1922. Acording to http://elginwatches.org, there were over a million grade 315 watches made between 1903 and 1939, but after looking through tons of online ads, catalogs, auctuons, and antique watch dealers, I haven't found it.
I don't know if I can post photos on here or not. If so, I'll post some soon. I also don't have the watch with me now, as it is being repaired, co I can't look at it as I write this. As memory serves, the dial has the image of a couple columns or maybe a scroll printed in the center with "Elgin" in small letters. I haven't seen photos of any watches with this design. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Also, about how much might a person have paid for this watch in 1922?
Thanks very much.
S.W.
