Yes. The case will have the name of the company that made the case (and there were lots of them - Brooklyn Watch Case Co., Crescent Watch Case Co., Fahy's, Philadelphia, Dueber, Star, Roy, etc., etc., etc.) and the watch movement will have the name of the company that made the watch. So a watch movement, whether made by Elgin or Waltham or Rockford or any of the various companies, can be and are found in cases made by any number of companies. Cases wore out over time, too, and replacement cases were also available from the local jewelers or watchmaker's shop.
