When did you hear it? Who was talking about it? For what? For the Revelers and the 13 fans who attend their games? For all the big name concerts we get here in Mobile? Barring Cher, when was the last time a big act came to town?
Yeah we get Disney On Ice and Sesame Street Live... and the couple of shows from WWE once a year. But that's it.
Unless a private company is coming in to build the arena, it's not going to happen. The City is not going to plunk millions of dollars into another White Elephant for that kind of thing. We've got the Civic Center and even the Convention Center for that.
Heck, even the Mitchell Center can't draw a big name, unless you count Snoop Dogg.
I don't mean to sound negative, although I know I do... but I just don't see it happening.
