Maybe, maybe not. There have been so many rumors on how and why the team is no longer here. I personally believe that there were many factors in their leaving. But Toby has been good to keep up with this forum and try his best to inform us fans. (Mostly, to curb any false rumors.) I'm sure that when he reads this post, he can clear any confusion for you.
My thoughts on the ACHL, I think Mobile could be a good market for this league. I think that the City of Mobile believes that Hockey did not take off like they would have liked and just isn't willing at this time to venture into any version of the sport. But that's my opinion.
