Night..The Life of a City

Little lights twinkle in square rows
As Lovers park on secluded hills cooing
City Sirens call out to the lonely
Streetlights bring shadow dramas of nightlife
Pizza vans race to and fro
Delicious odors fill hungry nostrils

Somewhere a lone dog is barking
Excited calls are answered in echoes of everywhere
Somehow this darkness is a cover in which they live anonymous
A telephone rings, a call is answered..it is a wrong number
She looks sad ..her heart is disappointed
Tinkling of a glass..Pouring of liquor

The busy streets shine with coloured signs everywhere
Young men are cruisin the boulevard
Hi girls wanna lift..Get lost turkey
They giggle and walk on..talking excitedly
Movie complexes blink chain lights on and off
Another block buster... A crowd waits for entry
